About Me
Hi, I’m Grant Little—a hands-on technologist with over 25 years of experience solving complex business problems through thoughtful engineering and a relentless curiosity for what’s next.
I’ve recently returned to Ireland after many years in Australia, and I’m excited to start a new chapter—connecting with great teams, exploring new opportunities, and continuing to build systems that matter.
What I Do
I’ve spent most of my career in financial services, where reliability, scalability, and performance aren’t just nice-to-haves—they’re essential. From developer to specialist engineer to enterprise architect, I’ve worn many hats and learned to navigate both the technical trenches and the strategic conversations that shape long-term success.
I thrive in environments where I can:
- Research and implement technology solutions that solve real business challenges
- Define technical roadmaps and cross-cutting platform capabilities
- Champion DevSecOps and CI/CD practices that accelerate delivery without compromising quality
- Foster fast feedback loops and observability-first cultures
- Mentor teams and help shape engineering practices that scale
Whether I’m designing cloud-native platforms, modernizing legacy systems, or guiding teams through architectural decisions, my goal is always the same: build software that works, lasts, and earns trust.
What I’m Passionate About
I have a particular interest in highly available, low-latency systems—especially those that support trading platforms and real-time data flows. I believe technology should empower people, not complicate their lives, and I’m always exploring new tools and techniques that offer a competitive edge.
I also enjoy sharing what I learn. I’ve authored training content for Pluralsight (including the “Practical Enterprise JMS Playbook”) and occasionally post on my YouTube channel to break down technical concepts in a clear, approachable way.
Outside of Tech
When I’m not deep in code or architecture diagrams, you’ll probably find me outdoors. I’ve been windsurfing since I was 12—thanks to my dad—and I still love the feeling of catching a gust and carving across the water. I’m also an amateur photographer and videographer, and you can check out my creative work at grantlittle.photo.
And when the wind’s not blowing? I take to the skies. I hold an Australian Recreational Pilot’s Certificate for Light Sport Aircraft and try to get airborne whenever I can.
